The Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District (RivCoParks) invites the community to the grand reopening of Kabian Park and Reserve, following the completion of extensive park renovations and amenity upgrades. A public ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 28001 Goetz Rd., Quail Valley, CA 92587.
Riverside County First District Supervisor Jose Medina will join community members and RivCoParks staff to commemorate this milestone, followed by a ranger-led hike through the Reserve.
“Investing in parks is investing in the health and well-being of our communities. The reopening of Kabian Park shows what can happen when we prioritize accessibility, safety, and quality of life. This reserve has been a part of Riverside County for decades, and today we ensure its legacy continues for years to come.” Supervisor Jose Medina, Riverside County First District.
Through the support of American Rescue Plan Act funding, the park has undergone a comprehensive transformation to improve accessibility, safety, and the visitor experience. The enhancements include:
- A new restroom facility
- New concrete pathways and ADA-compliant parking pavement
- Upgraded playground surfacing
- New entry gate and perimeter fencing
- New park signage and electrical panel upgrades
- Beautified picnic shelters and enhanced irrigation systems
- Installation of decomposed granite for trails and landscape improvements
Originally established in 1968, Kabian Park spans over 640 acres and serves as a vital ecological reserve and community recreation space. With miles of trails and diverse native wildlife, the park is a popular destination for hikers, equestrians, and outdoor enthusiasts.
