On Sunday, May 18, 2025, the Riverside Museum Associates had an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social at the Heritage House. People came in droves for free ice cream and to tour the historic house. Volunteers were dressed in period clothing. Lines wrapped around the house to get a peak inside.

The Heritage House was built in 1891 and owned by Catherine Bettner. The home is a Queen Anne-style and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It’s a beautiful depiction of the style and function of homes at the turn-of-the-century. It is open for tours from September through June for docent-led tours. School tours are also available. You can also volunteer at the Heritage House.
